Mark O'Kain

Percussion

Mark has been a member of the Ocean City Pops since 1998. For the past 10 years, Mark has also been busy working as a musician with touring Broadway shows. He has played on the National tours of “Les Miserables”, “Edward Scissorhands”, and “My Fair Lady”. This year Mark will be starting a new job as the touring drummer with the Broadway tour of “Mary Poppins”. At last count he has played in 1750 performances of “Les Miz”, worked in over 115 cities, and accumulated lots of frequent flyer miles.

Mark is a former percussionist at Opryland, U.S.A. in Nashville, and was a member of "The President’s Own" United States Marine Band from 1994-98. Mark performs frequently with Pops pianist, Jeff Uhlig. They recently released a CD entitled “Classics to Ragtime”. If he looks stressed, it is most likely from juggling his duties as POPS Percussionist, Personnel Manager, and Music Librarian.
